So, !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! happened earlier today.
First order of business was to prod and bash the starter with the end of something long. This didn’t help, so we had to improve access by taking off the rear right wheel.
We checked a variety of different things, but in the end came to a baffling conclusion that both the starter and the ignition switch worked separately, but not together. We decided that in that case it’s probably the switch after all, so we shorted the starter to get the engine going and drove to a certain properly old-school, friendly (grumpy) electrician. I tend not to trust car electricians that aren’t grumpy.
We wanted to use the pit for better access to the starter, but the car wouldn’t fit above it. That’s as far as it’d go.
In the end the electrician confirmed that it was indeed the switch (something we replaced in mid-september already) and being a cool, old school dude found us a new one in the back of his shop. :D
It’s a bit of an annoying job since you have to remove the steering wheel and all the stalks around it, so we probably won’t get round to replacing it till after easter. It’s back to teh garage for the Fiat for now!

Unfortunate! Very odd that it died so quickly! Especially considering your other replacement was a brand new part...
Oh well, hopefully a semi-easy fix! :)
